Release 29

Released April 21, 2026.

This release gave documentation menus a proper folder and page structure, let forms share a styling prototype, and added tab completion to the leed CLI. It also fixed a number of problems in the menu editor, the CMS interface, team permissions and the CLI.

New features

Folders and pages in documentation menus

A menu linked to a documentation page type now follows a folder and page structure. Folders organize sections and cannot be links themselves. Pages hold the content and cannot contain other items. The menu editor shows Add Folder and Add Page where each one makes sense, and a Docs badge on the menu’s name tells you which mode you are in.

Choose a form prototype

The Form Prototype field in the form editor was read-only, leaving every form with the prototype it got when it was created. You can now pick a prototype from your existing forms or type a new one. Give several forms the same prototype and they can share one set of styles. Whatever you enter is converted to a slug, and the field saves when you pick an option or leave the field, never while you type. The field cannot be left empty: clearing it puts back the last saved value.

Tab completion for the leed CLI

Pressing Tab now completes leed commands, subcommands and options in bash, zsh and fish. Completion is set up automatically when the CLI is installed or updated, so update to the latest version and restart your terminal. To add or remove it by hand:

leed completion install
leed completion uninstall

Fixes

  • Dragging a menu item onto one of its own children no longer makes the item disappear. That move is now refused.

CMS interface

  • The asset grid now adapts to the width of your window, with small, medium and large thumbnail sizes instead of a fixed number of columns. Very wide screens are capped at a sensible width, and the page no longer overflows.
  • On the sign-in page, the security check no longer reloads each time you type in the email field.
  • The CMS now always displays in light mode, whatever your operating system’s dark mode setting.

Team permissions

  • Team members no longer lose their permissions when a previously deleted user record with the same email exists. Sign-in now always uses the active record and its role.

Leed CLI

  • After the CLI updated itself, it could print TypeError: The "paths[0]" property must be of type string, got undefined. That error is gone, and an update run from your site folder now also brings your project’s dependencies and git hooks up to date.
  • The CLI no longer fails when run from VS Code tasks. It had called npm and npx in places, which VS Code could resolve to the wrong tools. It now uses Bun throughout.
